All good things must come to an end and what an amazing end the TLO13 guys gave us! It was a phenomenal week filled with lacrosse, parties, fantastic memories and all at an amazing location. No one wanted to leave as people were changing their flights in the final days, even if it was just for an extra 12 hours of TLO13 fun.

So after an intense week of lacrosse played by the 12 teams it all came down to the finals played at the 15.000 seater stadium. All teams played throughout the day trying to secure the highest place possible but the finals came down to North Star v NTNUI for the men’s and Team ArchLevel v Just Lax It for the women’s. The women’s final was the first to be played and the ladies took to the pitch against a very strong Just Lax It team. The game started and Just Lax It put a goal away very quickly to give them the lead but AL responded in kind the level the score. As the game went on both teams worked extremely hard to try and secure the win but Just Lax It started to pull away and the gap started to increase. By the final whistle Just Lax It had secured the win and took the TLO13 Women’s Championship.

Now it was time for the men’s final and both teams lined up with every intention of taking home the win. From the first face off the game intensity was high and both teams fought hard for every loose ball. North Star put the first goal in and took the lead to which the Norwegian side fought hard to rectify. Goals went backwards and forwards but North Star never lost the lead. In the final quarter North Star put a couple more away to secure the win and take the TLO13 Men’s Championships.

After the games, everyone gathered at the Red Tower of Alanya for the awards ceremony where the teams took to the stage to collect their awards. Every team walked away with a medal to symbolise their achievement and had them awarded by the people of the city who made this whole event possible. To top it all off, everyone took the stage for a team photo and a fireworks display.

The TLO13 have delivered everything that they promised, a fantastic lacrosse tournament in paradise with players from all over the world while staying at a 5* All Inclusive Hotel. We can not wait until next year where it will be bigger and better. So finally a huge congratulations to Patrick and Zeynep Dougherty and the rest of the TLO13 team for a tremendous tournament and we look forward to seeing you there next year.
