The Turkey Lacrosse Open experience started as soon as we touched down in Gazipasa. The guys had organised one of the Mercedes vans to come and pick us up and take us to the hotel in comfort and a little style.

The day kicked off with refereeing and coaching clinics for players and locals to come and learn about the game. The Turkish National Team coaching staff lead the coaching clinics while the refereeing and umpiring clinics were taken by experienced officials from all over the world. A fantastic opportunity to expose our sport to the community of Alanya.

After some relaxing by the pool in the amazing 5 star resort, all teams headed down to the beach lacrosse stadium for some ‘mixed’ beach lax fun. It was a great chance to mix and play with players from other teams and make new friends. The referees were also rocking the lime green officials shirts in support of their cause! Red Bull sponsored the whole event with the Red Bull Wings Team offering free drinks and an awesome DJ set to keep the party going. Everyone had an awesome time!

To end the evening, everyone chilled out on the hotel roof top bar and took advantage of the all inclusive ‘adult beverages’. A superb start to the week and there is lots more to follow!
